Capability Gap

[3.CGF.16]

Need for a common and more frequent risk analysis process for the transport of goods that may dissimulate drugs

Background

Practitioners need a uniform Risk Analysis process. Although the Risk Analysis process is standardized there is different perception of risk across different organisations. Therefore, the same process will produce different results influenced by the risk analyst’s perception and available data. Apart of the need of a common risk perception and access to shipment data (CMR), there is a need to better utilise the outcomes of risk analysis and perform targeted controls regularly on border crossing points. The results of risk analysis should assist the competent departments to focus their investigations.
