Nicosia Risk Forum

The Nicosia Risk Forum is the 2nd annual symposium of the Centre of Excellence in Risk and Decision Sciences (CERIDES) which is a focal point for Security and Safety – related issues in South Eastern Europe.

The symposium was themed on “Managing Climate Change Risks” and was dedicated to the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks stemming from the global phenomenon of Climate Change. These interdisciplinary risks require the close cooperation of a broad range of stakeholders.

The 2nd edition of the Nicosia Risk Forum was dedicated to the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks stemming from the global phenomenon of Climate Change. These risks are interdisciplinary in nature and require the close cooperation of all societal stakeholders in order to be adequately managed. The 2nd Nicosia Risk Forum aims to make a significant contribution towards this requirement through the implementation of a number of related activities. The participants of the 2nd Nicosia Risk Forum had the opportunity to:

  • Gain practical knowledge on managing climate change risks in their area of interest
  • Discuss with a wide range of academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders their strategies on the management of climate change risks
  • Identify significant barriers to the effective implementation of management strategies for climate change risks
  • Explore collaboration opportunities with academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders by attending targeted networking / brokerage activities

MEDEA presented THOR methodology before 200 symposium members, and answered questions regarding the achievement of the project’s goals.
