How to engage ethics in future systems for FCT (31st October 2019)

Co-Organised by MAGNETO, MEDEA, TENSOR and CONNEXIONS projects. Members of the Data Privacy, Ethical and Legal Committee (DELC) of the project presented MEDEA’s approach to research sensitive subjects like radicalisation; new terrorism forms; return of foreign fighters; ssmuggling of illicit drugs and weapons; exchange of information between LEAs. Electronic IDs, biometrics, fraudulent documents. The challenges of compliance with the recent Ethical framework were discussed. Researchers and practitioners strive to ensure that security organisations are collecting and representing accurately their user needs and their consolidated requirements are reach the industry, academia and the policy makers while respect a complicated legal framework.
